Shinai Value Packs for you to enjoy Kendo and save money.

We want you to enjoy Kendo as much as possible with our shinai, however, the cost of shinai can be a burden. Hokubei Budogu is doing the best we can to provide high-quality shinai at competitive prices, and we are offering these shinai value packs to help you save money.

Please note that all of our shinai, once ordered, will go into production to ensure you receive the “freshest” shinai possible instead of old and dried-out shinai which were warehouse inventories for prolonged periods.

What are the “A” grade classifications on our shinai line-up?

For our shinai classifications, our basic shinai, A, and AA are made from Keichiku bamboo (Click here to read more about the different bamboo breeds used in shinai production).

Our AAA, and AAAA are made with Madake bamboo. Also for our dobari/jissengta shinai, the more A’s mean the fatter the dobari circumference.
